RCM Violin Series
The Violin Series, Third Edition is an exceptional body of essential repertoire and technique carefully selected and edited to support violinists in their artistic and technical development.
Nine engaging volumes of Violin Repertoire introduce teachers and students to a broad spectrum of composers, musical styles, periods, genres, and pedagogical challenges. The progressive approach ensures that specific keys and technical elements are introduced at the appropriate level. For the Introductory Level through Level 2, the repertoire is organized by tempo to suit the needs of developing violinists; for Levels 3 through 8, the repertoire is organized into categories according to style period or genre, providing a useful chronological and stylistic reference. An exciting new development for the Third Edition is the inclusion of concerto repertoire for Levels 5 through 8.
These two companion volumes to the Violin Repertoire books include scales, arpeggios, double stops, and studies/etudes for all levels of study from the introductory Level through Level 8. For each level, scales and arpeggios are presented with recommended tempi and articulations. The Third Edition has been expanded to include a wide selection of studies/etudes at each level compiled from both standard literature and contemporary composition.
An excellent resource for all violinists, Orchestral Excerpts contains selected passages drawn from standard orchestral repertoire. Students will find this progressive collection especially useful for fulfillng audition and examination requirements. This volume is being introduced for the Third Edition as a complete compilation of all excerpts listed in the Violin Syllabus, 2006 Edition for Levels 7 through ARCT.
